Shri. O. P. Gupta, Member, Lokayukta, Maharashtra State

Hon’ble Shri. O. P. Gupta completed his B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from MNIT Jaipur and is a 1992 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer. During his distinguished career spanning 34 years in public administration, he held several key positions in the Government of Maharashtra as well as the Central Government.

He retired from IAS while serving as Additional Chief Secretary, Finance Department, Government of Maharashtra. Prior to this, he served as Additional Chief Secretary, Finance (Expenditure), and Principal Secretary, Higher and Technical Education Department, Government of Maharashtra.

In the State of Maharashtra, he also served as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL), Inspector General of Registration and Controller of Stamps, General Manager of BEST, Mumbai, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC), Collector of Amravati and Satara Districts, and Chief Executive Officer of Akola Zilla Parishad.

On deputation to the Central Government, he served as Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks for five years.

With extensive experience in Public Administration, Finance, Education, Transport, Urban Infrastructure, and Intellectual Property Administration, Shri. O. P. Gupta has contributed to several important areas of public service.

He is appointed as Member, Lokayukta, Maharashtra State, on 14th August 2026.
